Bree Fitzgerald, also known as "Prescott Homegirl," candidly explains how she arrived at this unique moniker. While setting up her real estate business, she aimed to make her branding truly reflect her vibrant personality. Rejecting traditional naming conventions, she deliberated over the name, seeking something that combined fun and professionalism. Fate stepped in when her mother suggested the word "homegirl," aligning perfectly with Bree's original thought.
"When my mother suggested the name, I knew it was meant to be," she admits.
Fitzgerald's journey into real estate was quite serendipitous. After managing her family's local boutique in downtown Prescott, she transitioned to the property sector during the pandemic in 2020. The suggestion from her mother, based on Bree's excellent customer service skills combined with the circumstances that led to the boutique's closure, pushed her towards real estate. Becoming her mother's assistant initially, Bree earned her license, made her first sale, and welcomed her second child all within a few months.
"Working as a full-time agent alongside my mom, Angela, has been an incredible journey," Bree shares.

Looking ahead, Bree acknowledges the ever-present need for buying, selling, and holding in the property market. With buyers moving in from different areas and sellers capitalizing on their home equity, it's a mixed market. However, she warns homeowners contemplating a sale but needing financing to hold off due to potentially higher interest rates.
Fitzgerald states, "People will always need to buy or sell for one reason or another. But timing is crucial, especially for those who may need financing after their sale."
Fitzgerald is optimistic about the real estate market's performance in Prescott, an area she perceives as highly desirable. With ongoing new construction and the ability for people to work remotely, she expects steady growth. Bree advises potential buyers to prioritize finding a property that meets their needs rather than waiting for a possible drop in interest rates or house prices.
"In Prescott, we're seeing properties fly off the market within days. If you're waiting for rates or prices to drop, it may be more beneficial to focus on finding the right property now," she suggests."
Discussing design trends, Fitzgerald reveals her love for non-traditional shapes and textures in new builds and remodels. She particularly appreciates the addition of uniquely shaped flooring and natural wood elements that warm up modern spaces. On the topic of raw land sales, she attributes the slowdown to rising construction and material costs.
"The expense of preparing raw land, coupled with building costs, can often exceed the cost of purchasing an existing or new-build home," Bree explains.
Away from real estate, Bree spends her Saturdays indulging in local activities. Much like the real estate mantra of location, location, location. The Fitgerald family mantra when it comes to down time is outside, outside, outside!
"My children and I love visiting the farmer's market and strolling downtown. My kids will hound me for a horchata while we stroll and pick out fresh veggies and a bouquet of flowers from our favorite Whipstone Farms! After that, we'll likely head downtown to Granite Creek Splashpad or a lake to hang out in the sun. Granite Basin Lake, with its safe swimming and sandy spots, is our summer favorite," she enthuses.
Saturday evenings often find Bree and her husband unwinding at popular local spots. They love the Lazy G Brewhouse for its good food and beer and enjoy live music at the Whiskey River Tavern or the rooftop patio at The Raven.
"There's nothing like a good evening with food, music, and great company," she says.
Come Sunday morning, Bree prepares for her monthly "Mom Walks" with a cup of coffee from Bear and Dragon.
"My go-to coffee is 'The Sasquatch,' and their avocado toast is the best I've ever had," she admits. On quieter Sundays, she visits St. Michael Bistro, The County Seat, or picks up breakfast burritos from Alfonso's for a quick and delicious start to the day."
"Whether it's gearing up for a Mom Walk or enjoying a slow-paced Sunday morning, I cherish these moments," she confesses. "Having a wonderful breakfast with my family is the perfect way to recharge for the week ahead, and it’s even better when it’s from one of our local spots here in Prescott."
